Downtown Ripon shines at night.

There’s plenty to do in the Ripon and Green Lake area this week, from Cause of the Mondays to multiple opportunities for live music.

Vines & Rushes Winery will host Cause of the Mondays today from 4 to 8 p.m. to benefit Journey Charter School.

During the event, 25% of food sales and all cash donations from this night will be donated to Journey.

Journey Charter School is a Ripon Area School District charter school that offers project-based learning to students in grades K-2.

“Students explore real world problems while incorporating math and reading skills with both grade level and multi-aged peers,” the winery says. “Journey Charter School uses a hands-on approach to learning which helps students develop the life-long skills of communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

“As part of this hand-on approach students connect with the community by visiting residents’ homes, inviting community experts into our school, and participating in a variety of off-site learning opportunities. Proceeds will be used to fund these student learning opportunities and educational experiences.”

The Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will host Concerts in the Park Wednesday featuring Copper Box from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Deacon Mills Park.

“Their fun upbeat music including multi-genre, polka-rock-blues, as well as their own originals, will make you and your whole family want to sing along and dance,” the chamber said of Copper Box. “This is a Wednesday night you won't want to miss. Come relax lakeside in Deacon Mills Park, enjoy food from local restaurants and cold beverages from the Chamber Snack Shack.”
